Eftpos online is a capability of the payment provider that allows merchants to process payments through the eftpos network for online transactions.
Least Cost Routing (LCR) allows merchants to choose between routing transactions through global schemes like Visa or MasterCard, or local schemes like eftpos. This feature offers cost control, broader customer reach, and fosters competition by reducing dependence on major credit card schemes. Least Cost Routing (LCR), for PowerBoard online payments, lets you save on scheme costs by choosing the most cost-effective network for processing debit transactions from multi-network cards.
Using PowerBoard's routing rules allows you to direct all scheme debit cards to Mastercard or select between Mastercard or eftpos based on transaction thresholds.
Please note, transactions processed via the eftpos gateway do not carry chargeback liability shift as this gateway does not support 3D Secure 2.0.
The eftpos online gateway may not be enabled on your PowerBoard Merchant Account by default. If you wish to register for eftpos online you can do so by reaching out to our Merchant Support team who can assist you in setting up eftpos online on your PowerBoard Merchant account.
Feature Availability
Currently, LCR is an optional feature available on PowerBoard for merchants with differential pricing with eftpos. Merchant must be on Interchange + and Interchange ++ pricing only.
