Card Payments

Cards are a core method for allowing users to make payments from a credit or debit account. In order to make a payment the customer enters their card details at the online checkout provided on the merchant site. PowerBoard supports card payments as the default payment method and offers a number of different flows for added security and ensuring the availability of funds.

Card Payment flow at checkout

Payments with PowerBoard are handled through the PowerBoard widget. After you integrate the Web SDK into your checkout page, the customer can make a payment with their card details. PowerBoard operates with the card providers and other downstream systems to provide a straight-forward integration for developers and a seamless checkout experience for customers.

Integration Types

Card Payments with 3D Secure

3D Secure 2.0 is the preferred method for managing card payments. It provides additional security to reduce the risk of fraud and chargebacks.

Card Payments (no 3D Secure)

The simplest form of card payments. Customers have a frictionless experience, however without the added protection of 3D Secure.

Card Payments using a vault token

Most suitable for recurring customer payments where the customer’s card will used for subsequent transactions. Provides additional security to reduce fraud risk.

Card Payments w/ Auth/Capture flow

Most suitable whenever the transaction needs to be billed or cancelled at a later date. Ensures the customer has sufficient funds when payment is due.
