How to: Obtain API credentials for PowerBoard

View Transcript

Welcome to the PowerBoard Dashboard tutorials. Today, we’ll show you how to obtain API credentials, referred to as either API Secret Keys or API Public Keys in the PowerBoard portal. You’ll need to obtain API credentials anytime modifications to the PowerBoard widget are made, when making API calls or for testing and integration. Please note when working with the PowerBoard widget you’ll need the API public key and while making API calls, you’ll need to use the API Secret Key. For security reasons access to these keys in the PowerBoard portal is restricted to users with SM Admin and SM Manager access only. To access the PowerBoard portal, you’ll need to log in using your credentials. To find the API keys head over to the arrow next to the Merchant name. From the drop-down list select My Company and the company profile screen will appear. Select API & Settings.

You’ll notice the API Secret Key and API Public Key are hidden. Clicking the eye icon will reveal the relevant API Key. Now visible, you’ll be able to copy the keys. SM Managers and SM Admins can Reset and Pause the API Secret Key and Public Key, however these should only be selected when instructed by the PowerBoard Tech Care team. When reset or paused, the keys will not sync correctly with your PowerBoard Integration. If you accidentally select these buttons, please contact the PowerBoard Tech Care Support team for assistance.
